They go to school at five years old.

What age do Romanian children go to school?

They go to school at six years old.


In America there are six years of  elementary school. In Romania there are five years of elementary school.

In America children finish elementary school at twelve years old. In Romania children finish elementary classes at ten or eleven years old.


In America middle school is from the sixth to the eighth. In Romania middle school is from the fifth to the eighth grade.


In America high school is from fourteen years old to eighteen years old.In Romania high school is the same.

In America after high school students go to colleges for two years or to universities for four years.

In Romania it is the same.


Romanian Education System :

- elementary school

-middle school/ junior high school 

11-14 years old

-high school

15-18 years old 

-university
