What did Mario say in her letter ? 

Mario asked Fred how things were. He said (that) he  had been really busy ; that's why he hadn't written for months. 

He let him know what had happened since the last letter. Mario's brother had just found a new job, better than the other one, which  he liked more and where he earned more money.  Mario asked Fred if he remembered his cousin Karen and her friend Simon because they had decided to get married and they had already chosen a wedding date. 

He shared his excitement  asking if that was  not wonderful.
