Henry VIII was a king. He started to build  strong , fighting ships for the Royal Navy. Henry loved his ships. He liked to watch his men build them . His favourite ship was Mary Rose , named after his sister.

 The Mary Rose was in an accident with a French ship. Henry watched as his favourite ship disappeared under water .

Some people discovered the ship in 1967. They lifted it up in 1982. Today people can visit the Mary Rose and see what life was like on board !
